You may want to check out Spamassassin. <http://spamassassin.org> It's very effective at filtering spam and I'm using it with Maildrop and vpopmail on our Linux server. My personal spam load has dropped from 20-30 per day down to one or two every couple of days. I don't have any specific info on how it works on high-volume systems but there's a Spamassassin mailing list where you could post a question. Hope that helps. :-)
