Dear Visu,
You need to open the gadget.manifest file. Find the <id> tag. Replace
the existing id with the new GUID that you have generated. That should
work.
You can use Windows Task Manager to do load and performance test. You
can monitor the Memory usage, CPU usage, Network usage etc... using
Task Manager.

1. How to generate a unique GUID for my gadget.?
There are several ways to do so:
1. Use application called Guidgen.exe by Microsoft (you can find it in
Visual Studio suite or download separately from Microsoft for free)
2. Visit websitehttp://www.guidgen.com/orone of the hundreds
different sites which can generate it for you on-lin.
