Started on doing GSA stuff about a month ago, and am finding that
these are the two main buckets of info may want to go to:
http://code.google.com/enterprise/index.html
https://support.google.com/enterprise/login?dest=%2Fenterprise%2Fwelcome
The support.google.com site requires an ID and password that your
company should have as you are currently a gsa customer.

I wanted to get a big picture on how to implement search functionality
using the appliance. We are planning to have a search box in our
websites and the google appliance sits on our network. We have a web
server where all the static documents reside, we also have a database
where our dynamic content reside. We would want to crawl both those
