Thank you.
That's real code running: I used screen recording software to grab output from the emulator running in QVGA while simultaneously bridging input from my webcam into the emulator over a TCP/IP connection.
The idea arose from the Android platform itself - I think it provides an exciting mix of capabilities, and I wanted to find an interesting/ fun/useful way of combining them. Whether my software is practical or not is another matter; it ultimately depends on whether the processing power I need is there in the hardware and in the VM. Unfortunately I don't know if that will be the case, but I like pushing software limits and I'll continue the development just for the enjoyment of seeing what's possible.

Wow, that's a really cool idea, Tom!
Is that actual code you have running, or just a mockup video?

I was inspired by the Android platform to develop an 3D interactive barcode system that hits many of Android's key APIs (2D/3D rendering, camera capture, network access and location services). It's somewhat experimental at the moment (until real devices are available it won't possible to tell how usable my software is) but I've just uploaded a short video of it 'in action'. I just thought people might be
