I'm interested in hearing how others manage their IDE project files as part of their perforce depot.

Up until now, we haven't had much need to put the IDE files into the depot but now we are starting some new branches, etc.

What we mostly want to do is have a base project file for each branch without requiring edit/submits during normal times. I have some ideas, but none are very pretty.

If you have a particularly elegant way of handling this we would appreciate hearing about it!
