At 02:44 PM 10/24/98 -0500, you wrote:

What is the root of your client? There is a a field called "client root" when you do a "p4 client" or "create/edit my client". Only files that are under that directory are mapped to the perforce depot. If you are trying to add files that are in a different directory, they are not mapped to any place in the depot, so it does not know where to map them.

That was exactly the problem, thank you. I changed the client root to something high enough in the hierarchy that it contained the files I was adding and everything worked.

Also, is there a way to import RCS history?

I recieved a personal response on this. I'm not sure I can get this script to work on NT, but I'll give it a try. ftp://ftp3.perforce.com/pub/perforce/r97.3/tools/convert/rcs/rcstoperf.sh

Thanks again, Greg Munger
