Sorry for intruding on the list, but I've tried to reach Sam Varshavchik via the email address I found in my maildrop distribution, but have had no luck.

Sam, I would be grateful if you could read the following and get back to me fairly quickly.

I am not subscribed to this list, so please be sure to Cc or reply directly to me,

Thanks, --Wez.

Hi Sam,

I've written an extension for PHP that uses your maildrop library as it's base to allow PHP scripts to parse/manipulate email messages. Would it be possible to grant PHP permission to distribute that code along with the PHP release under the PHP License rather than the GPL?

You can find out more about the PHP License here: http://www.php.net/license/ http://www.php.net/license/2_02.txt

I would be grateful if you could let me know either way quite soon.

Thanks in advance, Wez Furlong.

unless you can obtain permission from Double Precision, Inc. to relicense their library code under the PHP License or another non-viral open source license, we need to kick this code out into pear/PECL, and can not distribute it with php itself.

let us know what we should do. we need to resolve this before releasing 4.2.0.
