You can install famd from ports if you like:

# cd /usr/ports/devel/fam # make install depend distclean

You'll need to edit etc/rpc, etc/inetd.conf and etc/rc.conf, but that should be explained after you install it.

Kind Regards, Sander Holthaus

Hello, I use courier 0.45.4 on a FreeBSD 4.10 and ESMTP, POP3 & IMAP seem to work fine but I have thoses messages :

/var/log/maillog :

------------------ Jul 28 15:46:42 xxxxx imapd: Failed to create cache file: maildirwatch \ (mic@yyyyyyy.com) Jul 28 15:46:42 xxxxx imapd: Error: Input/output error Jul 28 15:46:42 xxxxx imapd: Check for proper operation and configuration Jul 28 15:46:42 xxxxx imapd: of the File Access Monitor

daemon (famd).

As the error message says: you have a configuration problem with your famd service.

Is it possible that Spanhaus SBL/XBL blacklist do that ?

No.

Yes I see but I don't have any "famd" daemon on my FreeBSD (nor "man page", nor "locate", nor "find" about famd). So you use/create the cache file maildirwatch ? And where did this file be created ?
