Well, yes, so did the Beirut peace accord, the bosnian cease-fire and the "peace in our time" letter-of-intent.

There is an awful lot of space between "it *should* work" and "it *does* work".

although I'll grant I forgot to design in removable media.

Those are not really as much trouble as one would think.
