I'm trying to install the Msql-Mysql-modules and I get the following error:
/usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lz
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make[1]: *** [../blib/arch/auto/DBD/mysql/mysql.so] Error 1
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/local/Msql-Mysql-modules-1.2216/mysql'
make: *** [subdirs] Error 2
In searching the Archives, I came upon a post which described the same problem.
An answer was provided which said that zlib was required and should be
downloaded and installed. So I downloaded a zlib rpm and tried to install it:
# rpm -ivh zlib-1.1.3-22.i386.rpm
Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
package zlib-1.1.3-22 is already installed
Is there something else I need besides zlib? Please reply to this message
