Hi,
2006-09-14 kl. 16.02 skrev komt...@livetext.com:
Hi All,
We're going for mysql cluster, but the equipments we have are 32bit PAE 16G of Memory, Intel Sassoman machines. As far as I know, because of PAE, linux operating system can see 16G of memory without problem, however, one process can allocate no more than 4G of memory, therefore one ndbd process can use upto 4G. My questions are:
1. Is my assumption correct ?
Yes
2. If so, is there any way or trick to allow ndbd in 32bit PAE to use more than 4G of RAM ?
No
3. If we don't use disk-based storage, all data is in memory, is it advicable to run multiple ndbd processes in the same machine ? In the case of 16G, we would run 3 ndbd processes to use up 12G and the rest is for operating system.
It works with more than 1 ndbd node per machine but it isn't recommended. Mainly since it can generate more complex error scenarios. But if I were you, with such a machine at my disposal I would want to make good use of it :)
Rgrds Mikael
-thanks kem
