I anxiously await the 2004.2 release of the server... (I know it's in beta... But...)
I'm loving those triggers. And I agree, I'd rather wait a few weeks before updating the server.

I have no problem using, and have always used, the beta clients against a production server, and never with any results worth than a client that crashed (first p4v version blew up for me a lot)
I have never considered doing the one-way upgrade of a production server to a beta server version. On the other hand, this latest upgrade is the first time I was really eager for a new server-side feature since I started working with perforce a few years ago...
Perforce tends to be conservative enough with their releases that I would be more likely to do this than just about any other product. Still, corruption or a screw up in your source control system is pretty ugly...

Does anyone have any experience with beta releases from Perforce? Would you consider putting a beta release into production?

I believe that 2004.1 was a release of p4v only and that it didn't have a corresponding server side build.

What's the status of 2004.1?
Looking on the Perforce website, it appears as though the current version is 2003.2, snd the current beta version is 2004.2. What what about 2004.1?
Thanx,
