Hmm, I might be missing something here, but it's hard to say without a concrete example... but I think this is very easily solvable using the jam way of doing things:

This is what I am doing at the moment. However, I am hoping that actually coding this behaviour into Jam will help avoid the slow parse time I am experiencing.

Dynamic binding can turn out to be an incredibly useful/powerful feature in Jam.

I'm not proposing replacing the existing behaviour -- just adding to it :-)
