True, but there's much more to ADC than just the dev tools. There are other more specialized dev kits to download there that cannot be obtained any other way. I cannot view Darwin source without an ADC account. I don't get the newsletter without it. Etc...

And if someone knows how to get the newsletter some other way or another place to get the other SDK's, don't bother! That's NOT the point of this discussion. The point is that 1/2 of us are not happy with the current security policy and what we're suggesting to remedy the situation wouldn't harm (or make more vulnerable) the other 1/2 or Apple in any way.

But if all you needed ADC for was the dev tools, there would be no need to log in if you rang up and ordered it.

The ADC webapp should most definitely (and easily could) cater to a much larger percentage of its userbase. That's all we're talking about here. And just for the record, you can't "ring up" Apple to solve this problem. Your password will still expire, call or no >> call.

ADC was not designed to cater for just your needs. You could always ring them up and get them to send it to you, so you don't have to change your password and don't have to download it.

Your argument is silly.

I think people have bigger things to worry about than the "uncertainty of the level of their password" that they want to use to download dev tools every 4 months. (and that must be changed EVERY time they visit the site, because of this stupid policy)
