Depends on how important your repository is to you!
Other apps won't cause Perforce problems for CPU usage for example. I have seen people run out of disk space due to another app which is never a good idea.
As you say it's a reliability issue - what can other apps do that might cause the server to have problems?

Hi,
We are preparing to move from our prototype Perforce installation to a new server and support 50+ users.
The server is a Sun Ultra-80, 1GB RAM with an external Sun T3 RAID array for stoarge.
Is using this as a dedicated Perforce server, possibly with Apache/webkeep, p4db, a good idea, or do others run un-related application on the server as well ?
Our IT department is thinking about sharing the resources now that they are available and I'm trying to find reliability argements against doing this.
