understood, but that is the risk that comes with developing for a platform at
such an early stage. Google can't really be to blame for that. but again its all
speculation.

although my situation is different, my software I'm writing is open source and
in spare time, so no money issues.

Cheers, Mike

Fair enough but for me, I think that having certain developer/companies having
the latest SDK updates for 3+ months means that they have a greater, not equal
chance of producing something at launch. Personally, I think it's a pretty big
risk putting faith in Google given that they are so silent. I'm sure if they had
good news, they would share it. I've sunk thousands into development cost, as
well as much of my own time and I am stuck, not knowing what kind of changes are
going into the platform and SDK, particularly in regards to application
installation, delivery and security. Security affects everyone because you want
to know what functionality can be locked down by the carrier, rendering your
application useless. I'll grant some types of applications may be more resilient
to platform changes. Bottom line is that if you are an ADC winner, many of these
risks are known. Without full information, sinking in money now may require
redoing work and additional costs or even scratching the project entirely.

Just because there hasn't been an sdk release in a while doesn't mean you have
to completely stop programming. I'm sure Google will give enough time to
developers to work out the kinks prior to the release of any handset carrying
android.

Best to recruit from the ADC winner list; the rest of us are all on outdated
SDKs and likely won't be able to have anything ready for the QIV Android launch.

I have a podcast publishing company, BurstMarketing, and we are looking at expanding by distributing our content via mobile apps to Google Android phones, iPhones and WAP sites.

I'm looking to speak with a talented developer to see about doing some (a) consulting, and then (b) implementation for us.

Please contact me ASAP.
