Brewer,

There have been several reports that, on Vista machines, the 'Learning Center' causes problems. A commonly-suggested test is to download a model from the 3D Warehouse, and open it, not with SketchUp, but by double-clicking on the model file name in the Explorer file listing. This will open SketchUp, then the model, without opening the 'Learning Center.'

How about giving this a try?
