"Local View of Client Tree" also shows you how the files are laid out physically on your disk, instead of how they are stored in the depot. Under normal circumstances, you won't notice the difference, but if you do any fancy tree inversions in your client spec this new view is very handy.

Can anyone clarify the difference between the new "Local View of Depot" and "Local View of Client Tree" newly available in p4win 2002.1? After a quick glance, I can't determine the conceptual difference (or an actual difference with my test client spec). I've looked through the docs and don't see anything related.
Any thoughts appreciated...
Local View of Client Tree includes files in your client tree that haven't yet been added to source control. You can drag files from the tree into a changelist to open them for add.
Local View of Depot only include files that have already been added to source control.
