I am not so sure that putting a conf in home is the right thing to do. the conf is a per application setting, not a global one. Of course it can be used global, but I am not sure I should encourage this by using the home directory.
I think you have a good point here, but are you thinking of not having the environment variable GROOVY_CONF?
I wonder the best thing might actually be to have them all:
default: $GROOVY_HOME/conf/groovy-starter.conf overriden by: ~/.groovy/groovy-starter.conf overridden by: $GROOVY_CONF overridden by: ./groovy-starter.conf overridden by property groovy.starter.conf.override
or is this overkill?
yepp, that's too much. especially since the conf normally is a commandline option.
