Oracle is neutral on ISO submission. We agree with Calvin's comments that it has
value and that most of the work has already been done. However we have no
significant resources to commit to it and therefore do not insist on it.

David and other members of the Work Group,

I have discussed with my colleagues the proposal that was raised at the last
WSS-M Work Group meeting to not submit WSS-M to ISO and instead put the work
group into maintenance mode.

IBM continues to believe this is a robust, broadly accepted standard and that
there is value in seeking ISO standardization. Given that no substantive
changes have been needed for this update, we would not anticipate any obstacles
or objections in the ISO committee. As noted on our last call, several other
standards from OASIS have recently "sailed through" the ISO process and we
would not expect our experience with WSS-M to be any different. Therefore IBM
would prefer to stick to the work group's original charter and submit the
standard to ISO.
