You'll not be able to write C applications yet. You can start with writing Java applications for Android.

Please refer the docs on how to write the following:

1. Activity 2. View (Layout) 3. Intents (Filters * Receivers) 4, Content Providers 5. Service

You should start with 1 &2 above, and gradually get lower.
