Perhaps the thinking is you don't need a tool higher than jam so no error result is required? :) I'm only joking, seriously, it would be nice.

If I try to execute jam in a directory without a Jamfile, jam exists with an error message, but withot setting a non-zero error code, which is annoying when using jam in "jam && run"-type scenarios.
