Yep, we're all heading down pretty much the same path. I'd just really like to see us all ending up with the same code instead of each having our own separate forks of this code. That means that some part of this stuff belongs in either Genshi or Pylons, unless I'm just confused.
I'm wary of having it included in Pylons, as that quickly puts me on the slippery slope of: - Where are the Cheetah validators? - Where are the Kid validators? - Where are the XXX template language specific decorators....
The solution I'd most like to see is a Genshi 'pack' for Pylons that includes Genshi and Pylons specific additions like decorators that use Genshi specific filters for the validation decorator, etc. This is also useful since Genshi, being less mature than Myghty is likely to change more frequently and I wouldn't want to have to keep putting out new Pylons revisions for a Genshi update.
I'll be happy to host the Genshi/Pylons package, and those interested in working on it can maintain it and handle releases. How's that sound?
Also, it'd be nice to have a consistent naming scheme should more of these template language specific customizations pop-up, sort of like how TG has the TurboXXX packages.
Cheers, Ben
