I know that this is an old thread, but it would be great if archiving a project would remove it from listing, while leaving everything else intact and available to anyone with access level of manager and administrator, at most. Ideally, only an administrator would have access to archived projects.
Although I'm not sure how much work would be involved in such a change (I did some programming in my life, but I'm not a programmer), it doesn't appear to be that involved.
Thank you,

Hi,

Hi, What is the meaning of archived projects? Why if i set the project to 'Archive' I'm still able to see it in the upper-left dropdown list? I dind't test it, but it seems that I can also create new issues in archived projects. Someone can explain me what i'm missing?
I am not sure what the original intent of archived projects was (I did not write it), but from looking at the code I can see that it does nothing.
In the future I will either make it do something, or remove it from the code.
