You'll need to double check which failure codes are considered permanent codes by Postfix.

Since 2004 (when I began with maildrop) maildrop has immediately given a permanent failure to Postfix (2.0 - 2.4+) on "quota exceeded" results, which has always lead to Postfix bouncing the message. This is the *only* scenario on my mail servers that ever leads to Postfix *bouncing* any message, all other possible scenarios lead to Postfix *rejecting* messages (for whatever reason).

OP is therefor misinformed and should recheck his sources.
