I am able to build the JDK just fine (patchset 7). Have you tried a gmake clean? Are you sure the environment variables are set correctly?

Well, I cut-n-paste the build instructions that I wrote myself. They work fine for everyone with similar setups. At least, I have had no reports that there are omissions or typos.

This does not seem to be build environment related. I cannot load the class if I run java from the command line. I get the same message as in the build. For some obscure reason the Linux JDK just won't see the class file that it just build itself.
