Not perhaps, can. From what I've seen PHP is a rock solid product that offers up a lot of niceties... But these niceties can have a price dependent upon the needs and scope of the project...

Like I mentioned before I wanted to be able to use perl modules - something you can't do in PHP because it's not perl.

Also, PHP is proprietary in that you can't extend it's functionality like you can with perl.

I have to say that I probably would have gone with PHP if it wasn't for the fact that I needed to use my perl modules and the other small factor of not wanting to learn yet another language...
