It's not in the directory yet, but you can check out my new gadget by
adding this:
http://www.JavascriptToolbox.com/gadget/gadgetmonitor/gadgetmonitor.xml
It allows you to enter up to 10 gadget URL's and display the number of
users and number of comments for each. I do plan to enhance it so you
can mark all comments as "seen" and it will only tell you if there are
new comments.
When it fetches the remote content, it seems to hang my browser for a
bit and I don't know why. Maybe it's the parsing of the html to grab
the data? I have 6 gadgets in my prefs now and it pauses for a bit,
but it's not too bad.
Also take note that this sends your gadget url's to my server which
acts as a proxy to grab the gadget page in the directory. Since
cookies need to be set in the request in order to get the content, I
have to proxy it through a server-side php script to get to the good
stuff. I wish there was a way around this.
If anyone has comments or suggestions, let me know!
