Hi Mike,

Hi all.

I am search for ticket/problem tracking system, and eventum seems to conform my needs.

BUT I need a localized for russia system, but I can't find any ready localization and tools&mechanizms for localize eventum by hand...

How can i see, messages for translate bundled in templates and eventum do not have separate "message&interface" files....

What plans about it in development?

Here is part of an email I sent out to a few people a while back regarding localization. Unfortunately I was unable to find any volunteers for #2. Please note item #1 (Releasing Eventum 1.7.0) has already been done.

=====

I didn't want anyone to thing I have forgotten about localizing Eventum, I have just been very busy with work. Tonight I finally tried out Smarty-gettext (http://sourceforge.net/projects/smarty-gettext/) and determined that we should use it to localize Eventum.

In my mind this is what needs to happen:

1. I release Eventum 1.7 (Within the next week). 2. We edit all the templates and put "{t}{/t}" around all strings we want translated. 3. I will generate the gettext (PO files) from the templates and distribute them to you. 4. You guys will translate the PO files into your respective languages and return.

Item #2 is the main one that needs discussion I think. Preparing the templates for localization is a major task which will take the most time. In addition to the three of you on this email, I will send a call for help out on the eventum-users and eventum-devel list. We can then split up the files for translation.

=====

I neglected to put out a call for help on the mailing lists yet, but plan to when I have a free minute. Item #2 is quite a large task, and I simply don't have time to do it at the moment.
