Hello Andreas,

Hello Eric,

Okay let's try this: inside the connector-jar file is a "datadir.jar"

jar xvf ~/path/connector-mxj.jar 4-1-13/data_dir.jar mkdir data cd data jar xvf ../4-1-13/data_dir.jar

this will unpack a "fresh" datadir for us to work with.

Manually unpacking the datadir works on both machines. I can execute both programs directly after each other without problems.

Really? Well this seems to indicate that the problem is somehow related to the Connector/MXJ wrapper, doesn't it? Very interesting.

Also, a co-worker of mine asked to get the results of "dpkg -l" from a working system and from a non working system, to see if maybe there is a subtle difference. This also may help us try to model the environment.

I have attached the output of "dpkg -l" from both systems to the mail. There are some differences but I don't which package could make a difference in my case.

Thank you for the "dpkg -l" info. I will review this with one of my co-workers and see if we can formulate any ideas about out how to duplicate the problem.

Regards, Andreas

Let me think about what the next step here should be. I'll get back to you tomorrow with more ideas.

Cheers, -- Eric
