I've just installed Sun's list of recommended patches dated August 17th 1999, recompiled MySQL and I still get the same problem. Note that if I run version 3.22.16a-gamma on the same machine everything works fine.

2. Try binary available on www.mysql.com FOR 2.6

Haven't tried this yet, ideally I'd prefer to compile it myself.

Please try binary version.

If that does not help, use gcc 2.95 er latest egcs for Solaris.

Also, please follow instructions from manual, particularly those pertaining to Solaris 2.6 precisely.

And please, report back.
