Indeed. I've updated the P4Perl installers (for the 3.x series) accordingly.

The relevant URLs are:

http://public.perforce.com/guest/tony_smith/perforce/API/Perl/current/p4perl56-setup.exe http://public.perforce.com/guest/tony_smith/perforce/API/Perl/current/p4perl58-setup.exe

Could you give them a try and let me know how you get on.

Thanks,

Tony

Well that would be the problem. I don't have access to that directory. I'm going to find another system to run this on but I would suggest that in the future, $ENV{TEMP} be used.

Hi Jeff,

The installer runs a small perl script to determine your installation paths. In doing so, it creates a temporary file called c:\install.txt, containing the results, that it then tries to read. The error message you're seeing is (somewhat cryptically) saying that it's failing to read that file.

Could you check it exists and if so, send it to me so I can see what it contains?

Thanks,

Tony

I am trying to install the latest release of P4Perl. I've tried both

p4perl56-setup-2.4320.exe p4perl58-setup-2.4320.exe Both result in a popup which says: Error loading strings ' from file.

Any help? Jeff
