Greetings, As you probably know, the spam marketers use automated programs that search the web 24 hours a day looking for legitimate email addresses [in precisely the the same manner that the Google computers constantly seek new pages to add to the Google search engine's cache]. That's why it is always a good idea to try to fool these programs when revealing your e-mail address on public forums, by appending to it some nonsensical prefix or suffix. This is not always possible, however, and in such cases you rely on the forum operator to conceal its participants' e-mail addresses from such programs. Now, search Google on the e-mail address that you use to post on this forum. You won't get hits from Amazon.com or Buy.com or CCIUG, but lo and behold, there you are:

I started receiving significant amounts of daily spam at this e-mail address around the date of the first post found by Google. Why can Amazon.com, Buy.com, Rational Software keep the e-mail addresses of their customers hidden from spammers and Perforce cannot?
