Hi, I installed an older version of mysql (2.19 gamma) on my nt before, it started and ran fine. I just downloaded a newer version (2.22). I removed the older one from c:\mysql directory, and installed the new one in d:\mysql, and created a config file my.cnf in c root which includes the information about the d:\mysql directory. When I run d:\mysql\bin\mysqld-shareware --install, I got an error dialog box "Failed to install service". From the service icon in Control panel, the old mysql server information is still there. I don't see anywhere I can get rid of that old mysql entry.
