Thanks for the feedback Frank!

- With the GGE gadget "open from URL" worked once, to use it again I had to "reset" GGE (settings + save). Tested with IE6.

Interesting. I tried reproducing this on IE 6 but was unable to. Are you consistently seeing this error or does it randomly come and go?

- "Open" doesn't like more than one dot in the title, but "save" apparently supports it. Tested with FF2, I had to use another name for xxx.yy.xml, after "save as xxx-yy.xml" it worked.

Thanks for reporting this. We'll look into fixing this.

An option to preview "html-inline" (no iframe) as "html" (in an iframe) could be useful for very simple inline gadgets.

It's an interesting idea of course. To define simple, it probably means any inlined gadget that doesn't depend on any HTML elements on the iGoogle container page. Most inlined gadgets these days are inline for a reason and interact heavily with the container page. However, it may still be useful to some extent.

More ideas: How about adding two links per gadget to the "my gadgets" gadget, one "edit" link to load the gadget into the GGE scratchpad, and another link to show its directory entry, i.e. the URL proposed in the "performance"
section:http://www.google.com/ig/directory?url=<gadget-url>

Yes, I agree that the developer gadget needs a serious overhaul. We've been collecting a list of feature requests and have plans to upgrade it in the near future. This will probably be included in the upgrade.

Thanks!

Dann

Will you use GGE to write and submit gadgets?

It's nice for a first quick test, after that I prefer my own editor(s). Two observations:

- With the GGE gadget "open from URL" worked once, to use it again I had to "reset" GGE (settings + save). Tested with IE6. - "Open" doesn't like more than one dot in the title, but "save" apparently supports it. What additional features would you like to see?
