Subject:[courier-users] Limiting access to Courier IMAP based on IP addressActions...

Hi,

I am new to the list, so this question may well have been encountered, but I can't see it in the FAQ or the mail archives, so here goes.

I am using Courier IMAP 0.99 installed via RPM from the tarball (rpm -ta etc etc) on a Redhat 6.2 system. I would like to be able to filter access to the IMAP daemon based on source IP address. Looking at the man pages and the start-up scripts, it appears that this can be done by adding a -access=filename option to TCPDOPTS in imapd.config (if there is a more elegant way, I would be interested in finding out).

It appears that I need a program called "makesmtpaccess" to convert a text access control list file into a file format that is usable by couriertcpd. AFAICT, this program is not part of the Courier IMAP distribution, but is included in the Courier MTA distro.

Is there any way to get a copy of this program without downloading and compiling the complete Courier MTA? Is there an alternative program that I can use?

TIA for any assistance,

Cheers Geoff Everist
