I don't want to clutter Quick Porting section with such specialized info. It's supposed to give you a really quick start to your first port.

You right. 6.4 section is 'Using perl' and question we discuss is for it.

We can debate if the structuring of PH into Quick Porting and Slow Porting, duplicating much of the data of first in the second, is a good design.

It's a great design. I still remember I read it for a first time.
