I'm having problems getting netscape notify to work with courier-imap-1.3.2

Has anyone else got this working?

Also, as a 'quick fix' to this problem my boss downloaded and installed imap notify by vandyke.com.

The notify function works, however with the clients configured to check for new mail at 1 minute intervals, their connections don't log out of the server. There are 50 clients in this office, putting an unnecessary load, and at times exceeding the 40 concurrent connection limit on the imap server.

what's the best way to solve this problem?

is there a way to force those clients to logout from the server side? as a temporary fix, i'm running a cron job (killall -HUP impad) at 1 minute intervals.
