I have a 666MHz Pentium III opening a personal folder with over 4800 messages within something less than 2 seconds (timed with strace!)... sounds perfectly acceptable to me, not?

Do we have any resource on the internet providing results of benchmarks?

Yes. But in personal folders it takes 1-2 sec to open the folder. So you have no intension to do something about it, do you?
