DEFAULT=$HOME/Maildir and $HOME/.mailfilter but that is not working. When I tail the syslog I get the following:

ld.so.1: maildrop: fatal: libstdc++.so.5: open failed: No such file or directory

I know I am doing something wrong. Can someone point me in the right direction.

That, I'm afraid, is up to you to figure out. Something's broken on your box: the runtime loader is unable to open your runtime C++ library.

This is something that you'll need to investigate yourself. There literally can be hundreds of reasons why this is broken.
