So my question is: Can I tweak courier in any way to accept all messages it's configured for also if there were deliverey problems?

Well, you can certainly turn off backscatter suppression, but you've just discovered why backup MXes are no longer needed on the modern Internet.

I like my backup-mx because I can read important messages with "cat" while they are in the queue if everything else fails. :) Also, I am the one who controls how long messages are kept before they are bounced. That's important for me.

I will try to find out how to disable backscatter-suppression, thanks for the keyword.
