When I try to login to cornfed via pop3 or imap, it fails (-ERR Login failed.) here's what I find in my logs:

/var/log/messages cornfed authpam: unable to resolve symbol: pam_sm_open_session cornfed authpam: unable to resolve symbol: pam_sm_close_session

/var/log/maillog cornfed courierpop3login: Connection, ip=[63.196.194.*] cornfed courierpop3login: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[63.196.194.*]

now here's a snip from /etc/pam.conf:

imap auth required pam_unix.so try_first_pass imap account required pam_unix.so try_first_pass imap session required pam_unix.so try_first_pass pop3 auth required pam_unix.so try_first_pass pop3 account required pam_unix.so try_first_pass pop3 session required pam_unix.so try_first_pass

As far as I can tell, pam and all the modules being used are working fine, so again I'm lost...Any ideas?

This is something that's peculiar to your platform. What platform are you on?
