I'd like to add that they don't yet take advantage of transit around
the airport. Portland International is I assume pretty well connected
into the public transportation grid (like most airports I know) and the
TriMet link shows those routes clearly. Google's system shows me
needing to walk 1/2 hour from the airport to catch the red line to
Beaverton, however.
Airport connectivity should be a high priority for this system:
business travelers, tourists, whoever is coming into a city for the
first time would like to know how to get from the airport to their
destination and do not know the good links (your TriMet link for
example) that locals know to get them there. If google can give
accurate info on picking up these routes, I think they can promote
public transit to many people who would never use it in unfamiliar
cities.
A hopeful thought...
