Hi

I am typing this from Mail.app and I have 7 different EMAIL accounts set up and each one has several sub-directorys (INBOX.<stuff>) and it just works for me. I didn't have to do anything. Which version of OS X and Mail.app are you using? There was a problem with this back last summer but this was fixed as of 10.1 I think.

I am trying to get subdirectories to work in Mail.app, it ONLY recognizes INBOX, none of my other Maildirs work! For example, I keep all my ebay receipts in INBOX.ebay, Entourage has no problem doing this, Mail.app refuses to open INBOX.ebay :(

Any tip on how to tell MacOS X 10.1's Mail.app how to understand INBOX and to use "." as a hierarchy separator?

What effect are you looking for? Mail.app understands that INBOX is both the root and a mailbox itself. It is supposedly picking this up from the IMAP server through the appropriate way, according to conversations I had with one of the developers of Mail.app last Fall.

Anyway, ask this on maco@omnigroup.com mail list (see www.omnigroup.com for subscription info, since the 2 devos for Mail.app hang out there often, unofficially, and they try and be very helpful).
