That´s exactly how I have created my certificate. I suspect that my courier installation does not have SSL support. I didn´t make the initial installation so I would like to know how I can check if the IMAP I´m working with could b started with SSL support or I should build another courier binaries with SSL support.

Thanks for your help.

Jorge

Thanks Jeff, I get more information but I don´t know exactly what it means:

root@tec10 /: /usr/local/ssl/bin/openssl s_client -connect tec10:993 CONNECTED(00000004) 2348:error:140790E5:SSL routines:SSL23_WRITE:ssl handshake failure:s23_lib.c:226:

It could be that the SSL support was not added during compilation???

imapd-ssl wouldn't start if SSL support wasn't available. Where did you get your cert? Did you use courier's scripts? If not try removing the cert and using "mkimapdcert" from courier. (Mine is in /usr/lib/courier/share.) Then try again.
