Hi list.

I'm using Courier and LDAP (Debian openldap slapd 2.2.26, libldap-2.2-7) as user backend.

Sometimes I get errors like that in syslog:

Jan 17 17:32:08 mailgate1 pop3d: authentication error: Input/output error Jan 17 17:32:08 mailgate1 imapd: authentication error: Input/output error

and also errors like that:

Jan 17 16:33:58 mailgate1 courieresmtpd: error,relay=XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX,from=<XX@XXXX.com>,to=<XX@XXXX.com>: 400 Service temporarily unavailable.

Before you decide to kick me on the a$$, I have enabled debug on authlib/etc/authlib/authdaemonrc.

With debug enabled I got this one:

authdaemond: ldap_search_st() failed authdaemond: authldap: TEMPFAIL - no more modules will be tried

Why does ldap_search_st() fail randomly? What's its return code?

I did a try modifying a parameter on slapd.conf called "conn_max_pending_auth" setting it to 2000 but that does not solved my problem.

May be a slapd problem? Any idea? Thanks so much. Ciao, Dino.
