Could it be that there is an nfs-problem?

Certainly. It's a disk/nfs problem.

Yes, you're right. The nfs-server was lx 2.2.16 (nfs.sf.net says loudly to use at least 2.2.19), the client was 2.4.18. Now both are 2.2.21, and everything works fine :)

Well, there is a read-error, but after a while it goes away.

And then you can finally see the mail. That's how it's supposed to work.

The problem occured only when moving a file. The file gets moved (at least on the server), but since then it isn't readable at all for a time, or until a remount. That was why the messages showed up, but with no content. Strange, isn't it?
