I would stay with compiling. with debian packing, on "testing" or worse on stable, you may get some ancient version of the software.

Mr. Sam's software compiles on almost anything, even on my old toaster.

Hi,

I have a qmail/vopomail multidomain mail server, and many of the users would like to acces to their mailbox through a webmail.

A quick poll on vpopmail ML shows that sqwebmail would be a good solution.

So, as well as I installed qmail and vpopmail from scratch but not from package manager, I wonder if it would be better to use a packaged sqwebmail or to compile it from source tarball. The goal is to have a rock solid thing. The box is a Linux Debian Testing one (yes Testing, but rock solid).

What would you advice me? qmail and vpopmail are adviced to be built from tarball
