You must create the zone new-server.domain.com and inside the zone create the MX
record.

I've got the courier server set up and running, and in my initial tests, all is working ok. I will say I struggled with a few things, which I hope to get more clarification on later.

But, now I'm ready to test it in the real world. I've got a DNS record pointing to it, but all of my MX records currently point to our production mail-server.

Can I create a DNS A record for our server, say "new-server.domain.com", which is different from the server's hostname, "host1234.domain.com" and expect to get mail addressed to use@new-server.domain.com, or do I need to set up an MX record for new-server.domain.com?
