Gaieus, I will certainly look into it. It will take a while for I am also looking for the right hull to begin with. Thanks! Wo3Dan

Wodan,

As far as I can remember, SSB now works with the free version (SU6), too. Maybe Gully could tell - he uses it and at home he has the free version (while in his office he works with the pro).

Anyway, try to get it started (you'll need a little time to get a good grab of it), the link is here (well, a "boat example" but you can go to the software page):http://www.tensile-structures.de/sb_examples.html

Have fun; Gai...

p.s. I myself do not really work with boats either and Hungary does not even have a seside - it's just some kind of romantic hobby which remained from my childhood...

The Viking Longboat I have seen, very nice indeed. And the effect of using the Soap,Skin and Bubbles plugin on hull and sail! Very nice rounded shapes. I am and have always been interested in beautifully curved hulls of sailing vessels, yachts, like the Endeavour I (1934) and Rainbow. There are so many. If I can find the time I want to create a reconstruction of such a hull in SU. And eventually completely rigged. I therefore need a good detailed plan. And maybe that S,S and B... plugin. Is that a ruby? And is it really free to be used with SU6- free. I couldn't find any link to it.

best regards, Wo3Dan

p.s. designing yachts has nothing to do with my work although who knows, maybe in the future. ;-)

Any kind (but preferably "old" boats like sailing boats and such). Have a look at the Viking longboat I made below.

I have just downloaded carmelite.mov and opened it in QT as you suggested. Very nice job Gaieus and a lot of work was involved I suppose. Thanks for sharing.

An other thing, somewhere you said that you love boats. What kind of boats, if I may ask?

Nehmo,

Actually both browsers should be able to download (or play with their QT plugins). I myself use FF too, but IE should also "see" it.
